Aiming at Chữnôm standardization, the Committee's "Nom Standardization Project" is designed to determine the Standard Chunom among many Chunom variants, to confirm the Chuhan and Chunom usage in Pure Vietnamese words (Từ thuần Việt), Sino-Vietnamese words (Từ Hán-Việt) (especially Vietnamese-made Sino-Vietnamese words [越製漢語]), and Hybrid words (Từ hỗn chủng), as well as to determine the Chuhan and Chunom usage in Loan words (Từ ngoại lai) for phonetic transliteration.
