Description
English: Housflag of the Red Star (packet) Line when it was established and run by the New York firm of Byrnes, Trimble & Co., 1821-1835/36 (not to be confused with same-named Belgian/US-American shipping company established in 1873, that used the same flag). The white background colour of the flag was changed into blue, when the Red Star Line was bought up by Robert Kermit. The Line went done in 1868.
Deutsch: Hausflagge der Red Star (Paket) Line zum Zeitpunkt als sie von der Firma Byrnes, Trimble & Co in New York gegründet wurde bis sie an Robert Kermit verkauft wurde (1821-1835/36). Danach wählte man statt des weissen einen blauen Hintergrund. Unter dieser Flagge segelten die Schiffe bis zur Schliessung der Red Star Line im Jahr 1868. Diese Red Star Line ist nicht identisch mit der gleichnamigen belgisch-amerikanischen Schiffahrtslinie, welche 1873 gegründet wurde (obwohl auch die weiss-rote Flagge identisch ist).
